Deep Tissue Injury

This presents as a localized, ​persistent, and non-blanchable ​area that is dark red, maroon, or ​even purple in color. The DTI ​cannot be accurately staged ​because the skin remains intact ​and the extent of the wound ​beneath cannot be visualized.
